Our missionaries in Eastern Ukraine
Our daily work
Our Novogrodovka church has a well with a large filtration system and a reservoir container for clean water. We obtained and installed this system with the Water Mission from Germany. Every day, during certain hours, people come to get clean drinking water for free. Most go straight home, but some stay for a cup of tea with food and to talk. And it is these tea-time conversations that make it all worth it. During these conversations, people sometimes share their emotional struggles, fears, and thoughts about God. Our missionaries can share the Gospel with them about the One who is the ultimate Living Water, Comforter, true Love that casts out fear, and the One who will meet us after we die.
In all of our churches, we have a system to receive humanitarian aid from various sources, put together packages, and give them to those who need it. Here too, some people stay for tea and talk, and those who are interested then attend our church meetings.
Due to war, kids are on online schooling, and after they finish coursework, many are outside ‘’seeking adventure’’. So our churches have started day clubs for these kids and teens. This is where they can just be kids and get help with homework if needed or a meal if hungry. And slowly, these kids begin to share their fears caused by the war, and their need for psychological support, which they can obtain through our missionary team.
